• I very much enjoyed Steven Hyden’s interview with Ryan Adams today. I’ve followed Adams’ career since the Whiskeytown days, sometimes with
    frustration but usually with admiration. He often gets a bad rap for the wrong reasons: his voluminous output, his stylistic experimentation, his colorful interviews. There are legit complaints, to be sure. I’ve seen one awful Adams show (and, to be fair, one pretty terrific show) and I don’t know that Adams has produced a single classic album. But my Adams playlist is one of my favorite “albums” in my collection and he’s still trying. In my experience he’s someone never to be underestimated.

    All of which is a long way of circling back to what prompted this post: I really want our interview with Adams to popularize the term “jive-turkeying.” Make it happen.
